Unlike my ADRL coverage which was solely editorial, this race – and all Promedia events at StangTV and it’s sister sites – would include video coverage of both the racing action and the news from the pits throughout the weekend. With the demands of all that encompasses same-day video coverage of an event, much of my time and energy was focused on it while the photography sort of took a backseat. However, I still had some opportunities to grab a few photos I was semi-pleased with.
For those that follow my work or have seen me at the track, I hate to take the same shot twice and I definitely hate to take a shot that someone else has done before. I’m constantly on the move between every pair of cars down the track to avoid any sense of monotony in my images. With that said, I was provided a green media vest (these things just scream fashion statement) which would allow me to shoot from in between the walls and all but touch the cars as they launched, and well…I just couldn’t not take advantage of the situation. In doing so, I came away with a lot of similar images but an angle I don’t get very often nonetheless. There’s a plus and a minus to everything, eh?
